 Verified Player Update

200              REGISTRATION

All players on teams affiliated with GYSA are required to be properly registered with FYSA in recreational status. The assignment or registration of a player to a GYSA given team is for the duration of the Association Seasonal Year, unless he/she is formally transferred or released.  Once a team has registered to play in an affiliated league, that team shall not be permitted to drop out of that league to play in another league for the duration of the season.

A.         PROOF OF AGE – Properly registered and birth verified with FYSA in recreational status prior to any player participating in a GYSA scheduled match.  The Executive Committee Board of Directors may call upon any player to prove his/her legal age.

Rostered Player/Passes

All players affiliated with GYSA that are traveling will be registered on a official  FYSA uploaded roster only and shall have a verified, laminated FYSA player’s pass with the player’s picture attached to the back along with the player’s signature in order to participate in GYSA scheduled competition.

1.        Individual Presentation – Each player shall individually present his/her player pass to the referee before the start of the game to verify his/her legal age.

Now GYSA understands that temporary player pass will possibly say unverified, which is fine.  But the FYSA roster is the most important factor. I just looked at a roster of 15 and saw 7 out of the 15 unverified.  THOSE PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY IN GYSA SCHEDULED MATCHES AS YOU ALL VOTED ON!!

I spoke with a couple of unhappy coaches, because they didn’t have a coach’s pass and very upset parents to find when they went to their game, they couldn’t play. Unfortunely, what I told  the coaches and parents, you need to go back to your club and asked why!!!  The above tells why!!!  The registrator needs  to explain to the players (parents) and coaches that until all the paperwork is completed NO PLAY!!

This is  responsibility of your club, NOT GYSA.  Clubs are following the rules that are stated in the coach’s manual, but apparently are not explained well enough at the club level that others are not following.

It is your responsibility as a commissioner of your club to carry back important information to either your registrator, head coach or someone that communicates with your coaches.

As I stated in an earlier.  NO PASS, NO PLAY!!   That is GYSA’s rules and regulations. My suggestions are when a player has been verified by FYSA, then a new roster be printed out for their future games, so that this misfortune doesn’t happen in the future.

GYSA is there for the players  and their safety but when the club doesn’t follow the rules, unfortunely it comes back to the club level.

Please make sure this is sent to your registrator so that he/she can understand our rules and the players and coaches don’t go home upset.
